American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for an Ortho Trauma unit requiring 1 year of Med/Surg experience and BLS certification on a night shift schedule.

• Work on a 36-bed Ortho Trauma Specialty Med/Surg unit
• Patient ratios of 1:5 with flexing to 1:6
• Patient population includes polytrauma, non-surgical cervical fractures cleared by spine/ortho/trauma, downgraded TBI patients with no more than 3 drains, and burn downgrades
• Manage Heparin and Protonix drips
• Uses telemetry equipment
• Charts in Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7P-7A
• 4 weekend commitment required
• Floating required to all Med/Surg units
• Must be on the unit by 1845 for huddle

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Ortho and/or Trauma patient experience preferred
• No gaps in work history equaling 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care to ortho trauma and polytrauma patients on a specialty Med/Surg unit
• Team player personality is a strong fit for this unit
• Royal Blue scrub color required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
