Responsibilities
  • Mows and maintains turf and landscaping; prunes and trims trees and shrubs; removes weeds from beds; removes litter, brush and debris from assigned areas.
  • Inspects, cleans and maintains tools and equipment.
  • Operates power equipment including one‑ton trucks and trailers, push mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, edgers and blowers. Riding mower experience preferred.
  • Assists with projects including sod and seed installation, tree planting and minor landscape renovations.
  • May assist with set‑up and support of special events.
  • Regular and consistent attendance required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications
  • Six months (Park I) or one year (Park II) of experience in parks maintenance, landscaping or construction.
  • No formal education required; high school diploma or GED preferred for Park II.
  • Valid Class “C” driver’s license (obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Pass drug test, driver license check, criminal history background check, periodic CJIS background check where required, SSN verification.
  • Knowledge of routine construction, repair and landscape maintenance methods; tool and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Skill in clear verbal and written communication; operating equipment under supervision; following instructions; use of PPE and safety equipment.
