A Fortune 500 company has an opening for a Campus Chef, a key culinary leadership role responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations across a large, high-volume corporate dining environment. This position directs the culinary team, ensures exceptional food quality and presentation, and leads menu innovation while maintaining strong operational and safety standards.

Successful candidates must be committed to very high-quality control standards, quick turnaround times, and tight, immovable deadlines. Core competencies include: leading in a fast-paced culinary environment, managing multiple production areas simultaneously, strong attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with both internal teams and client partners.

The Senior Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in culinary strategy, team development, and delivering a best‑in‑class dining experience that aligns with the client’s brand expectations and operational goals.

Job Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, train, and supervise kitchen staff across all production areas.
  • Oversee hiring, coaching, and performance development.
  • Ensure adherence to culinary standards, service expectations, and policies.

Menu Development & Food Quality

  • Plan and price menus aligned with client needs and financial goals.
  • Develop and standardize recipes to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Maintain presentation, portioning, and quality standards.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations for efficient workflow and timely service.
  • Manage inventory, food purchasing, and consumption forecasting.
  • Ensure proper equipment use, cleaning, and maintenance.

Safety, Sanitation & Compliance

  • Enforce food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor HACCP procedures and cleanliness standards.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

Event Support & Culinary Demonstration

  • Support and execute catered events, VIP functions, and special programs.
  • Conduct culinary demonstrations as needed.
  • Prepare select menu items when required (≤20% of role).
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of industry & culinary management experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • The ability to lead in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services is essential to success in this role.
  • Previous experience with control food & labor cost, demonstration cooking, menu development and pricing, and development of culinary team preferred.
  • P&L accountability and/or contract‑managed service experience is desirable.
