FLEX Security Officer in Plano, TX

Applicants need to be flexible with their schedule and willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays, if needed. You must be able to respond to work assignments with little to no advance notice. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in security and customer service. The site is a headquarters location and will require a high level of professionalism, customer service, and strong work ethics.

Security Officers, sometimes referred to as Security Guards, deter criminal activity, protect property and enforce rules on a property. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms from a stationary position, while others patrol areas and perform security checks. In factories and offices, Security Officers provide protection for equipment and workers, and check the credentials of vehicles and individuals entering or leaving the premises.

• Acknowledge and greet residents and guests in a prompt and courteous manner
• Manage guest/visitor access as needed and eject trespassers or violators when necessary
• Verify credentials of incoming and outgoing individuals/vehicles
• Document and maintain a log of visitors and notify residents of visitor arrivals
• Assist in protecting people and equipment while enforcing policies and procedures
• Monitor for suspicious behavior to help prevent vandalism, theft or other criminal activity
• Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms
• Patrol interior and exterior areas to identify potential safety and security risks
• Warn violators of infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking, possession of prohibited items)
• Respond to distress calls, alarms and emergencies by contacting local first responders
• Identify and report safety or security concerns promptly
• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of required documentation (reports)
• Enforce and follow all rules and regulations
• Other duties as assigned by management

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid state licensing
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum of one year of customer service experience
• Minimum of one year of security experience
• Must pass pre-employment screening (background and drug)
• Occasional physical requirements (crawling, crouching, climbing stairs, kneeling, running, standing, walking for extended periods)
• State training and licensing assistance may be available for qualified candidates
