Lead Mobile Application Engineer - React Native

The Mobile Team operates within Collective Health’s Member Experience organization, focusing on delivering an exceptional digital experience. This team is responsible for developing and refining the Collective Health mobile application, providing users with robust self‑service functionalities that enable them to navigate their healthcare with ease and fully leverage their benefits.

As an experienced Lead React Native Developer you’ll take full ownership of our mobile React Native application, spearheading its technical direction and growth. We’re seeking a curious and collaborative leader who thrives on tackling complex architectural challenges and enjoys mentoring and empowering other developers. You’ll be a vital contributor to our Member Experience team, reporting to the Engineering Manager.

What you’ll do
  • Lead React Native Development – architect, develop, test, and deploy robust, high‑performance, and user‑friendly mobile applications using React Native for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Technical Ownership – take ownership of significant features and modules within our mobile applications, from conception to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
  • Offshore Team Leadership – lead, mentor, and technically guide offshore development teams, ensuring clear communication, alignment on technical standards, and accountability for deliverables.
  • Code Quality & Best Practices – promote and enforce best practices in code quality, testing, performance, and security. Conduct thorough code reviews and advocate for scalable and maintainable solutions.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration – collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver impactful mobile experiences.
  • Android Understanding – leverage your understanding of Android native development principles to optimize React Native performance, troubleshoot platform‑specific issues, and ensure seamless integration with native modules when necessary.
  • Performance Optimization – identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, ensuring smooth and responsive user interfaces across a variety of devices.
  • Debugging & Troubleshooting – effectively debug complex issues across the mobile stack, including React Native, native modules, and API integrations.
  • Stay Current – continuously research and evaluate new mobile technologies, frameworks, and best practices to keep our applications at the forefront of innovation.
  • Technical Documentation – create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation.

Pay Transparency Statement:
This is a hybrid position based out of one of our offices:
Plano, TX, or Lehi, UT. Hybrid employees are expected to be in the office two days per week.

The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.
