Looking for Embedded Test Engineer - with Automotive Industry exp
Location:
Plano, TX
Job Summary
As a Junior Embedded Engineer with a focus on testing, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test plans for embedded software and hardware components. You will work closely with both software and hardware engineering teams to ensure that our systems meet the highest performance and security standards. Additionally, you will help drive automation in testing to improve efficiency and overall product quality.
Key/Primary Responsibilities
, including software and hardware engineers, to define testing requirements and priorities for embedded systems.
, ensuring timely communication and resolution with development teams.
, including test plans, test cases, test reports, and issue tracking.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Solid programming experience in C/C++ and Python
. - Strong understanding of embedded system principles
, architecture, and testing methods. - Experience with Linux-based environments
, including familiarity with development and debugging tools such as GCC, GDB, and make. - Understanding of embedded security concepts, including SE Linux, Trusted Applications, or other security models (a plus).
- Experience in automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Python-based testing frameworks, Jenkins).
- Ability to design and execute test plans
, including functional, performance, and security tests. - Strong debugging skills and familiarity with embedded system diagnostics tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN) and hardware interfaces.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Added Bonus:
- Knowledge of embedded system security best practices and vulnerabilities.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration testing.
- Experience with one or more of the following industries: law enforcement, defense, intelligence community, automotive, manufacturing, software.
Fluent in Japanese (reading, writing, speaking) for business and technical discussions.
