Yum! Brands is looking for a Sr. Backend Software Engineer to help shape the future of restaurant tech through our proprietary Byte by Yum! Labor & Inventory platform. This role is all about building intuitive, scalable tools that empower restaurant managers to handle scheduling, inventory, and financials with ease. You’ll be part of a fast-moving delivery team focused on creating a web-based Restaurant Management Platform that makes running a restaurant smarter, faster, and more connected.

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications
  • Experience developing RESTful (or Graph

    QL) APIs with Node.js
  • Solid understanding of SQL (Postgre

    SQL/SQL Server) and Redis or other No

    SQL databases
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Experience working in Agile teams with a strong delivery mindset
  • Self‑motivated and detail‑oriented, with a passion for clean, maintainable code
  • Ability to take ownership and thrive in a collaborative team environment as well as work independently on building solutions to complex business challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders and partners across the team and organization
  • Familiarity with Golang a definite plus, but not required

Salary:$114,000 - $155,000 annually + bonus eligibility

This is the expected salary range for this position. Ultimately, in establishing pay, we'll consider the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job‑related factors.

  • Write comprehensive unit tests to ensure code quality
  • Contribute to sprint planning and grooming of new features
  • Ensure the performance, security, and scalability of web applications
  • Guide other engineers on engineering best practices and code reviews
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Product, UX, QA, and SRE teams
