Java Spark AWS Data Engineer (Contract)
Akkodis is seeking a Java Spark AWS Data Engineer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. You will Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines using Apache Spark with Java and AWS services to integrate and optimize data flows.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $56/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark with Java, integrating data from multiple sources into AWS data lakes (S3) and data warehouses (Redshift).
- Leverage AWS services such as Glue, EMR, Lambda, Kinesis, and Dynamo
DB for data processing, storage, and analytics. - Optimize Spark applications and data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency, including tuning configurations and resource utilization.
- Implement data models and contribute to architecture strategy for structured and unstructured data within AWS environments.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high‑quality data solutions.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data quality, security, and adherence to governance policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in data engineering with strong expertise in Java and Apache Spark.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, and Lambda for data processing and storage.
- Proven ability to design and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and implement data models within cloud environments.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $56.00 per hour
