We are seeking Full-stack Engineers 4 who are passionate about leveraging cutting‑edge open source frameworks and emerging technologies.

In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving a major transformation across Capital One.

• Lead & Mentor Engineering Teams:
  Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers experienced in distributed microservices and full‑stack systems, driving solutions to meet regulatory and business needs.
• Advance Developer Experience & AI Workflows:
  Build and enhance internal tools, platforms, and AI‑powered workflows—including Claude Code integrations and skills marketplaces that reduce friction and accelerate software delivery across the organization.
• Empower Engineering Productivity:
  Invest in developer tooling to directly improve engineering productivity, code quality, and overall developer experience at scale.
• Deliver Cloud‑Based Solutions:
  Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust, scalable AWS cloud solutions that empower millions of Americans to achieve financial well‑being.
• Leverage Modern Tech Stacks:
  Utilize programming languages (Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, Type Script), Open Source RDBMS and No
  
  SQL databases, container orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern AWS infrastructure.
• Drive Technical & Operational Excellence:
  Provide technical leadership across Agile teams by setting high standards for system design, software development, operational excellence, and a "you build it, you own it" ownership culture.
• Partner on Architecture & Strategy:
  Partner with enterprise architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks, while influencing long‑term technology strategy by evaluating emerging tools.
• Reduce Technical Debt & Refactor:
  Proactively identify areas for improvement, implementing targeted refactoring to eliminate technical debt and optimize system performance.
• Foster Tech Community Engagement:
  Stay on top of emerging technology trends, experiment with new technologies, participate in internal and external tech communities, and mentor engineering peers.

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering) At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud‑based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 7+ years of experience coding with more than two of the following:
  Python, Type Script, or Javascrip
• 3+ years of experience with database and database management systems
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or cloud‑based productivity tools or virtualization technologies
• 4+ years of experience contributing to open source frameworks
• 3+ years of experience with front‑end JavaScript or Type Script frameworks
• 4+ years of experience creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing frameworks
• 3+ years of experience using Git-based version‑control systems (e.g., Git, Git Hub, Bitbucket)
