Senior Application Security Engineer AI Focused

Description We are seeking an experienced Application Security Engineer to join a newly formed team building a next-generation casino management platform. This role sits at the intersection of Application Security, Platform Engineering, Dev Sec Ops , and AI-assisted software development. You'll partner directly with development, platform, and data engineering teams to embed security into modern development workflows while helping the organization scale its AI-driven engineering capabilities.

This role is looking for a strong Application Security engineer to come and sit at the intersection of application security, platform engineering, and AI-assisted development to embed security directly into modern AI-driven development workflows, ensuring secure, scalable software delivery while maintaining development velocity.

Skills & Qualifications Day to Day:
Partner with platform, data, and application engineering teams to build a casino management platformIntegrate security into AI-assisted software development workflowsWork within Git Hub for code reviews, PR approvals, and security validation Perform hands-on threat modeling with a practical, modern approach (beyond traditional frameworks like STRIDE)Automate and enhance security scanning and vulnerability detectionImplement and refine risk-based security gates within CI/CD pipelinesParticipate in sprint stand-ups, architecture/design discussions, and security reviews and planning sessionsEvaluate and integrate security tooling into development and AI pipelines

Must have:
Strong experience with CI/CD pipeline engineering and security integrationHands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and workflows (e.g., agents, code generation)Proficiency with Git Hub Copilot and familiarity with Claude Code and other AI tools Practical experience in application security and threat modeling (beyond theoretical frameworks)Ability to review code (PRs) from a security perspective and articulate risk and impactExperience integrating security scanning tools into development pipelinesUnderstanding of risk-based security controls and enforcement (security gates)
Plusses:
Experience integrating security tool stacks into AI/ML pipelinesStrong soft skills and developer empathy; ability to balance security rigor with engineering velocity

Experience Level Intermediate Level Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
