As a Capacity Specialist, you will be developing, maintaining, and growing relationships between carriers and Candor Expedite. Responsibilities include quoting, coordinating, and controlling the movement of customer‑supplied products with a focus on high‑quality standards and customer satisfaction. You will manage the productivity and efficiency of Candor carriers, focusing on carrier networking, negotiation, sourcing, and relationship building in hotshot ground, white glove, truckload, and multimodal services.
GeneralResponsibilities
- Negotiate contract and spot market lanes with carriers.
- Prospect, present and sell company products and services to new and existing carriers.
- Collaborate with carriers to help maximize revenue with fuel advances, invoicing, round trips.
- Oversee the coverage of customer freight – ensure loads are covered timely.
- Define work based on evaluation of short‑ and long‑term goals of the team.
- Hold carriers accountable for PODs, capacity, driver information, truck, trailer, tracking acceptance and service commitments.
- Build effective long‑term relationships with carriers and teammates through strategic sourcing partnerships, lane, capacity and mode‑specific solutions.
- Responsible for volume, revenue and margin for accounts and team participation based on market trends and seasons.
- Develop “preferred carriers” based on carrier analytics (tracking methodology, pain points, etc.) and other internal resources.
- Develop capacity solutions to support customers’ needs effectively.
- Develop market rates based on capacity and service solutions.
- Dispatch drivers based on account needs and requirements.
- Explain requirements by account or by load.
- Ensure drivers use tracking tools provided for all loads.
- Educate them on meeting customer requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3‑5 years of experience in project management, business development or related area.
- Experience managing multiple clients, projects and/or teams to achieve a high service level.
- A basic understanding of freight, shipping & transportation, supply chain, and client service related to the industry.
