POSITION SUMMARY

The Commercial Vehicle Driver / Warehouse Operator is a dual role. Operations Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial motor vehicles (GVWR >10,000 lb. and 26,000 lb.) to perform local pick‑up and delivery (P&D) and conducts warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control. The role requires strict adherence to DOT/FMCSR, company SOPs, and site safety policies while meeting performance, safety, and quality objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operations Driver
  • Maintain a neat and orderly storage lot optimizing customer service efficiency.
  • Operate company commercial vehicles within a ~20 airmile radius to deliver and recover freight.
  • Verify shipment bills and ensure correct loading.
  • Load/unload freight safely; weigh and check dimensions.
  • Sort outbound freight, load ULDs and trucks.
  • Collaborate daily with warehouse supervisors and comply with safety requirements.
  • Provide professional customer interaction during P&D; protect freight integrity and security.
  • Use Airline/Electrical hookup/and Backing procedure correctly.
  • Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.
  • Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Receiving / Put‑Away
  • Use gas or electric forklifts/MHE to load outbound shipments, move and stack product efficiently.
  • Maintain an organized work area.
Order Picking
  • Pull and prepare shipment, ensuring correct quantity and type of product.
  • Pick efficiently to meet customer service standards.
  • Prepare freight for operations accurately and in a timely manner.
Quality
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Report quality variances.
Delivery
  • Move product from staging or storage to production lines or staging docks efficiently.
  • Ensure proper documentation accompanies freight.
Inventory
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports for tight inventory control and security.
  • Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and aid in warehouse security.
  • Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
Equipment Operation
  • Use a forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment to load, unload, move, stack, and stage product.
  • Maintain equipment in neat, clean, orderly fashion.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily.
  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed methods.
  • Maintain an active forklift certification.
Maintenance
  • Assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
Other Duties
  • Change forklift fuel tanks, participate in physical inventories, and perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
  • Repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • None
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6 months experience in logistics/distribution or related environment.
  • Able to operate MHE.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Completion of a forklift training program.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass federal/state/local background checks and drug/alcohol tests.
Other
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures in the warehouse, ranging from mild to moderate.
