Summary:
The Adult Tech Guidance Counselor will provide guidance and support to students regarding career awareness, college and postsecondary planning, and related resources.
- Provides students and parents information regarding the college application process, financial aid and scholarship opportunities; provides career/technical information.
- Develops and maintains an organized system of postsecondary education informational resources.
- Provides an ongoing program of individual, small group, and large group counseling services in the areas of academic advisement, career awareness and social/personal growth.
- Consults with administrators, teachers, parents, and district support personnel in identifying and resolving student issues, needs and problems.
- Interprets and utilizes school records.
- Addresses individual student needs and refers students to appropriate school personnel as necessary.
- Facilitates the involvement of parents in the education of their students, including assisting in parent/teacher/counselor conferences.
- Assists students in developing self-understanding, self-acceptance, effective interpersonal skills, career exploration, and educational planning.
- Provides information about appropriate community resources.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
