As a rapidly growing organization, we are looking for a senior accountant who can support the enhancement of Vitana’s financial operations. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
Responsibilities- Proactively identify and propose accounting solutions for new or unusual business transactions and help ensure day‑to‑day accounting is consistent with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and GAAP.
- Reconcile bank accounts, fixed asset accounts, intercompany accounts, general ledger accounts and sub‑ledgers as appropriate.
- Prepare monthly journal entries to include revenue recognition, payroll, accruals and other necessary entries.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules to ensure proper classification of assets and calculation of depreciation.
- Work alongside external accountant to ensure the timely completion of the month‑end close process.
- Review source documents as required to make proper accounting determinations.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed.
- Coordinate data flow with external accounting firms for audit & corporate tax engagements.
- Respond to questions from auditors during routine reviews and audits of financials while maintaining auditable records and schedules.
- Actively support transition of ERP and AP solution away from external accounting firm and onto Vitana‑held license.
- 2+ years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in a mix of public and private sector settings.
- Knowledge and comfort with financial reporting and US GAAP.
- Prior experience working with, or at, audit or accounting firms.
- Analytical and attentive to detail.
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Net Suite or Quick Books is a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business (accounting or finance).
