Job Responsibilities:

*** The successful candidate will have a demonstrated competency teaching multiple existing courses (e.g., Human Anatomy & Physiology, Human Gross Anatomy, Unity of Life) and the capacity to develop and teach courses within their area of expertise. The typical teaching load is 12 credits per semester.
* Engagement in evidence-informed pedagogy to teach undergraduate students in classroom and laboratory settings.
* Additional responsibilities include serving as student academic advisor, providing career advising/mentorship to pre-healthcare students, actively participating in research/scholarship/professional activities, engaging in service to the department, college, university, profession, and public.
* Other duties may be assigned by the Department Chair.

* Required Qualifications:

*** Doctorate or terminal degree (PhD, MD, DO, DC, DPT, etc.) in anatomy or physiology, biology, or closely related field.  An ABD (all but dissertation), if hired, will be contractually obligated to have earned their degree by January 1, 2027.
* Ability to teach undergraduate courses in Biology including Anatomy & Physiology.
* A minimum of two semesters teaching undergraduates, completed during or following graduate studies
* A strong commitment to undergraduate education and a willingness to collaborate with both students and faculty.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.

The Department of Biology in the College of Business, Industry, Life Sciences and Agriculture have 12 full-time tenure-track positions and regularly employ an additional 2 instructional academic staff and 3 support staff. The undergraduate program offers a BS in Biology with several emphases (botany, comprehensive, ecology, general, health sciences, molecular/genetics, nursing, secondary education, and zoology).  We emphasize experiential learning and have up-to-date, well-equipped labs and classrooms in recently renovated Boebel Hall.  

With around 310 students, the Biology major is the third largest on-campus major.
