Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering
Join us as a tenure‑track Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin‑Platteville. The starting date will be August 2026.
Position Summary
Are you an educator with a strong passion for undergraduate education? The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering department invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor in the Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) program. Responsibilities include teaching ISE courses and labs, engaging in research and scholarly activities, and providing service to the department and the university.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Teach courses in the ISE program utilizing effective and inclusive pedagogy.
- Develop and teach courses such as System Simulation, Engineering Systems Design, Industrial Engineering Computer Applications, Manufacturing Systems Design and Smart Manufacturing Systems (robotics, automation, digital twin, AR/VR, Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies).
- Develop curriculum and conduct academic assessment.
- Advise undergraduate students, student organizations, K‑12 outreach, and serve on department, college and university committees.
- Collaborate with colleagues within and beyond the department.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in systems engineering, manufacturing systems design, simulation, or facilities design.
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogy.
- Ability to engage in research and scholarly activities.
- Legal entitlement to work in the U.S. and willingness to undergo a criminal background check.
