Assistant Professor, Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, University of Wisconsin‑Platteville
Position SummaryMechanical and Industrial Engineering department seeks multiple new full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professors in Mechanical Engineering. Candidates will teach undergraduate courses and labs, engage in professional development, and provide service to the department and university. Desired candidates include those willing to develop courses in emerging areas of manufacturing and teach Manufacturing Processes, Engineering Materials, and Design of Machine Elements. Secondary consideration is for those who can teach Engineering Modeling & Design and Mechanisms & Machines.
Candidates with strong backgrounds in other areas may also be considered.
- Teach undergraduate mechanical engineering courses and labs.
- Contribute to curriculum development, academic assessment, and professional development (including undergraduate research and scholarly activities).
- Serve as academic advisor and engage in cross‑disciplinary collaborations.
- Potential to teach graduate level courses in the online MS Engineering program.
- Participate in department and university service.
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Strong teaching record and ability to teach a broad range of courses.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and civil community.
- Legal entitlement to work in the U.S.
- Background check required.
