Assistant Professor of Exercise Science/Health Promotion
University of Wisconsin‑Platteville – Platteville, WI
Position SummaryThe Health and Human Performance department is seeking a dynamic tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Exercise Science/Health Promotion with anticipated start date August 2026. This full‑time, 9‑month, benefit‑eligible position offers a salary of $60,000–$62,000 per academic year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in Exercise Science (Biomechanical Kinesiology, Anatomical Kinesiology, Fitness Testing and Prescription, Exercise Technique & Performance, Human Nutrition, Strength and Conditioning, Physiology of Exercise, Advanced Physiology of Exercise, Injury Prevention and Treatment, Exercise Science Research Methods).
- Engage in evidence‑informed pedagogy in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Develop or maintain a research program in Exercise Science.
- Advise undergraduate students within the Health and Human Performance Department.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the university to complete tasks and goals.
- Participate in university and departmental service activities.
- PhD, Ed.D, or other terminal degree in Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or related field; ABD candidates considered if terminal degree completed by the start date.
- Two semesters or more of undergraduate teaching experience during or after graduate school, or at least two semesters as a graduate teaching assistant for a laboratory.
- Strong commitment to undergraduate education and willingness to collaborate with students and faculty.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) certification preferred.
