Position Summary

The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering department invites applications for a Lecturer position. We seek an enthusiastic instructor passionate about teaching undergraduate engineering students and committed to high‑quality, engaging instructional practices. This student‑centered program emphasizes hands‑on, interdisciplinary coursework and cross‑disciplinary collaborations. The position commences for the Spring 2026 semester.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom, online, and laboratory instruction in one or more courses, including assessment of student performance.
  • Develop instructional design and curriculum relevant to courses of instruction.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for students regarding course content and expectations.
  • Teach undergraduate courses in general engineering and the mechanical engineering curriculum.
  • Engage modern pedagogy to teach through classroom and laboratory settings.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to complete tasks and goals.
Required Qualifications
  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics. Desirable: ability to teach courses in the mechanics stream such as Engineering Modeling and Design, Mechanics of Materials, Engineering Materials, Design of Machine Elements, Manufacturing Processes, or in the thermal‑fluid stream such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, and Thermal Systems Lab.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. and required to be legally entitled to work at the time of hire.
  • Background check required.
