Position Summary:
The Disability Access Center (DAC) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Services Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the DAC, including the Testing Center. The manager will provide leadership, planning, and supervision, directing and implementing reasonable accommodations and support services for students with disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
The role also involves supervising staff, coordinating programs, and ensuring equal access to academic and professional advancement opportunities for all students with disabilities. This is a full‑time, benefit‑eligible position with a starting salary of $65,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Exercise supervisory authority over at least 2.0 full‑time equivalent staff, including hiring, performance management, discipline, and approval of hours worked.
- Monitor the unit budget, approve expenditures, and track expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Develop, implement, execute, and evaluate unit objectives to support program growth.
- Develop and update university policies related to students with disabilities in response to changes in disability laws or DOJ/OCR rulings.
- Provide quality services to individuals with disabilities.
- Conduct intake assessments and maintain confidential records.
- Offer accessibility‑related support services and specialized academic pre‑advising to a large caseload of students with documented disabilities from pre‑admission through graduation.
- Investigate, propose, and procure computer‑assisted learning equipment and other adaptive technology to meet student needs.
- Manage the data information system to track services and outcomes.
- Develop and conduct workshops and training sessions relevant to students with disabilities, such as assistive technology training and study‑skills tools.
