Shift Lead

$17.00/hr - $20.00/hr

• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members, including interpersonal habits (e.g., greeting, eye contact, courtesy) and Walgreens service traits (e.g., offering help proactively, identifying needs).

• Open and close the store in the absence of store management, including required systems start‑ups, cash handling and ensuring the floor and stock room are ready.
• Complete product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe and provide change as requested to cash registers.
• Hold store keys and manage the safe and cash register operation.
• Assist with and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the backdoor for deliveries.
• Register all related sales on the assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications and voids.
• Assist the manager or assistant store manager with reviewing order exceptions, reverse logistics, display development and inventory counts.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and follow outdate program procedures.
• Assist with basic department pricing and daily price changes, ensuring correct signage.
• Handle bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, ledgers and bill payments.
• Maintain a clean and orderly store condition, including requesting repairs.
• Separate food items, follow product placement policies and use first‑in first‑out for consumables.
• Assist at the pharmacy out window as requested.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Conduct bag checks of team members before store closing.
• Comply with all company policies, maintain respectful relationships and complete special assignments as assigned.

• Attend training and complete required PPLs as requested by the manager.

• Serve as a liaison between management and non‑management team members by communicating assignments when management is absent.
• Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory or retail key holder work experience.
• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).

• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• Acknowledgment of arrest and conviction records for qualified applicants.
• Valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
