Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse Location

New York

This is a 13-week contract position.

Shifts are 12 hours, with day shifts scheduled from 7 AM to 7 PM. Weekend requirements are typically every other weekend.

We are seeking an experienced PCU Nurse to join our float team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care to patients in a progressive care setting, using telemetry monitoring and advanced nursing skills to manage a variety of acute conditions.

• Administer medications and manage intravenous (IV) drips including insulin and cardiac medications.
• Monitor patients closely for changes in condition and respond to alarms and telemetry data.
• Conduct EKGs and assist with post-cardiac catheterization care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.

• A minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an RN, specifically in a telemetry or PCU setting.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification required prior to start date.
• New York State nursing license must be active and on file at the time of submission.
• Experience with EPIC documentation within the last two years is mandatory.
