** Job description
** The role of a Special Education Para Educator is for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of students with special needs. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Para Educator to join our team. As a Para Educator, you will work closely with our special education teachers to provide support and assistance to students with disabilities, helping them achieve their educational goals and fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work Monday through Friday preferable for 28-30 hours a week when school is in session. Not required to work on weekends or holidays.
* Be engaged in the learning process from roughly 8:00-2:30 each day
* Collaborate with special education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
* Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during classroom activities, ensuring their academic and social development.
* Assist in adapting instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
* Support students in developing their communication, social, and life skills.
* Monitor student progress and behavior, reporting observations to the teacher.
* Assist with classroom management.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
* Collaborate other educational professionals to ensure a comprehensive support system for each student.
* Attend training sessions and workshops to stay updated on best practices in special education.
* Lead parents and students through the carpool process.## Qualifications

Qualifications:

* High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in special education or related field is preferred.
* Prior experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.
* Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment is a plus.
* Must be willing to take/pass the Parapro assessment or equivalent.

* Pay based on experience and education
* Fixed schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8-2:30pm (employer willing work with college schedules). NO Weekends or Holidays

Physical Requirements:

* Prolonged periods standing and walking or sitting at a desk
* Ability to work with younger students in physical settings
* Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
