Transit Design Engineer – Horrocks
Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 / year

As a Transit Design Engineer, you will assist on bus rapid transit, light rail, commuter rail, and other transit related projects.
Unmatched Comp Time Policy: Hours worked over 40 in a week can be reimbursed as additional pay at an equivalent hourly rate or banked as additional PTO.
Core Responsibilities- Provide effective and accurate communication with clients, co‑workers, stakeholders, contractors, and other team members.
- Support project managers and engineers with design tasks and report preparation for various transit projects.
- Prepare engineering related calculations, drawings, and exhibits.
- Perform independent research, including site visits, as directed and communicate findings to project teams.
- Collaborate with project team members to ensure delivery of high-quality products.
- Manage project data files.
- Attend company and project meetings as directed.
- Assist with business development efforts.
- Adhere to Horrocks policies to uphold a safe and efficient environment.
- Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity.
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- P.E. license in Utah or ability to obtain Utah P.E. license through reciprocity.
- 5–10 years of experience in Transportation design and engineering.
- Proficient with Microstation/Open Roads Designer.
- Ability to lead the preparation of design reports and construction drawings for transit projects.
- Time management skills to prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues and clients, both in‑person and virtually/remotely.
