Position: LOAN ASSISTANT MANAGER

About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Full‑time Loan Assistant Manager for our Grove Creek branch.

Position Purpose

The Loan Assistant Manager leads and supervises the loan assistant staff at Altabank, ensuring efficient support for loan officers, accurate loan documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager fosters a collaborative environment, drives operational excellence, and maintains high service standards for internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and mentor the loan assistant team, providing training and guidance to ensure high performance.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and best practices.
  • Monitor individual and team productivity, providing feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Oversee daily activities of loan assistants, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Assign workloads and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and service standards.
  • Ensure all loan documentation and processes comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance standards within the team.
  • Assist with audits and reporting requirements.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex inquiries from internal teams and clients.
  • Promote a customer‑focused culture within the team.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend process enhancements.
  • Support implementation of new technologies and workflows to improve productivity.
  • Manage the production of metrics reports and collaborate with key business partners on end‑to‑end process improvement.
  • Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of the company, including hiring, directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies, and work rules, and appraising performance and providing recommendations for staff compensation, promotion, and termination as appropriate.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frames; the learner is responsible for ensuring comprehension and may seek clarification from the supervisor if needed.

Qualifications

Experience: Two to five years of similar or related experience.

Education: A two‑year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of commercial lending practices and procedures.

  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Mastery level knowledge of common computer skills for Microsoft Office, including Outlook, typing, file organization and the ability to learn and teach new software quickly.
  • Ability to interact calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside the organization.
  • Capacity for regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change, utilizing time‑management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
