Position: Teller/New Accounts Representative

About The Role

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Part‑time Teller/New Accounts Representative for our Pleasant Grove branch.

To assist customers and potential customers by providing friendly, accurate and timely assistance. Recommends and explains banking services and products to clients based on their needs, presenting solution‑based banking services and products, and assists with client inquiries and complaint resolution. Assists customers with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and process customer financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, credit card payments, cashier’s checks, fund transfers and sell gift cards.
  • Maintain and balance cash or teller drawer daily, while adhering to assigned transaction limits.
  • Become proficient in the bank’s products and services to provide solution‑based banking services and products for the customer needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns that are within your authority and elevate to appropriate manager when needed.
  • Answer phones, process wire transfers, stop payments, check orders, and create debit cards.
  • Provide excellent customer service and deepen relationships by following the established customer service standards.
  • Open and close branch as schedule deems necessary.
  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Complete required bank training courses within assigned time frames; it is the learner’s responsibility to ensure they understand the information.
  • Actively work on the Summit Progression Program to learn and develop assigned skills and increase proficiency.
  • Adhere to Altabank Core Values.
  • Keep management appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems.
  • Participate in community service and bank‑sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of Altabank.
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service: must demonstrate self‑governance, courtesy and respect toward external customers as well as internal customers.
  • Represent Altabank in a professional manner including a professional image, confidentiality, a positive “happy to help” attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility and adaptability in meeting bank and customer needs.
  • Maintain a tidy work area and customer privacy.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Maintain regular, predictable and timely attendance.
  • Perform duties as assigned, noting that duties may change.
Compensation

The entry rate for this position is $17.00+/hour.

Schedule

M 12:00‑5:00 – T, W, TH, F 12:00‑6:00 and occasional Saturday 8:45‑1:10.

About You Qualifications
  • High School Diploma.
  • Six months of similar or related experience.
Knowledge, Skill, Ability
  • Meticulous attention to detail with numbers and names.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to interact calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change through time management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Work Environment

No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.

Physical Demands

Perform typical office duties: sitting, using hands in repetitive motions, talking, hearing, standing, walking, lifting or reaching as required. Routine use of computer equipment for 6–8 hours per day. Ability to travel off‑site and work extended hours when necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and location. Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) plan and paid holidays. PTO accruals begin at .0745 per hour for part‑time employees up to a maximum of 240 hours per year.
