As an EHS Manager is an integral role in the implementation and success of the EHS strategy within Horrocks. This role will be deeply involved with monitoring the compliance of rules and regulations, establishing training programs for health & safety, and investigating accidents and injuries.
Whatare the core responsibilities for the role?
- Assist, support, and monitor the implementation of the Trilon EHS strategy
- Ensure workplace compliance with all applicable OSHA standards, rules, and regulations
- Develop, maintain, and communicate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Identify and highlight training and certification needs to meet industry standards
- Foster and promote an industry-leading safety culture across all levels of the organization
- Conduct hazard assessments and communicate findings to employees
- Perform regular health and safety inspections
- Collaborate with company leadership to identify policy, training, and reporting needs
- Implement corporate audit practices and ensure follow-through on corrective actions
- Compile, analyze, and communicate EHS performance data and metrics
- Evaluate EHS data to identify trends and proactively address potential hazards
- Coach and mentor field personnel on PPE usage, hazard identification, and safety meeting practices
- Review and analyze Behavioral-Based Safety (BBS) observations
- Respond to incidents, collect witness statements, photos, and relevant information for investigations
- Serve as the point of contact for reporting all safety-related events (good catches, near misses, incidents)
- Be present onsite for high-risk jobs and activities to ensure safety protocols are followed
- Lead field safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Ensure availability and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel
- Regular travel may be required to company sites, vendor meetings, or industry conferences
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in construction
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze data and present actionable insights
- Certification in safety (e.g., CSP, CHST, OSHA 30) is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
