We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer (Platform Team) to join our team as a technical leader in building and scaling Pura’s backend systems. As a staff engineer, you will drive technical excellence across multiple teams, mentor engineers, and build reliable services used by millions of customers. You’ll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders across the organization to deliver robust solutions that directly impact our customers.

This role is ideal for a technically skilled engineer who thrives in a dynamic environment, communicates effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and is eager to make a significant impact on our growing business.

• Provide technical leadership across multiple backend teams and drive architectural decisions.
• Design, build, and scale reliable backend services used by millions of customers.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in software development, testing, and operations.
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver robust solutions.

• 10+ years in backend engineering with demonstrated technical leadership experience
• Ability to make pragmatic decisions about technical direction based on business needs
• Deep experience with cloud platforms and services (AWS), including architecture, deployment, and optimization
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Deep expertise in databases (Postgre
  
  SQL, Redis, Dynamo
  
  DB)
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and performance optimization at scale
• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical details to diverse stakeholders
• Strong mentorship skills to elevate the engineering team
• Experience with CI/CD practices and infrastructure as code (Git Hub, Terraform)

• Experience with Golang, JavaScript, Type Script
• Experience building and operating high-scale distributed systems
• Experience with IoT systems or connected devices
• Experience with distributed actor-based systems and/or libraries (Dapr, Akka, etc.)
• Experience with real-time data processing
