Locations: Pleasant Hill, CA
Program: 1-week special enrichment (November 9-13) | 12:30-3:00 PM (approximately 2-3 hours)
Position: Visual Arts Teacher
Age Group: Grades TK-5
Pay Rate: $85 per day
About the Role
We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Visual Arts Teacher to lead our 1-week special enrichment program for grade TK-5 students. This program encourages self-expression and creativity through a variety of hands-on art projects including drawing, painting, mixed media, and crafts.
You’ll help students explore different art styles and techniques in a fun, supportive, and inspiring environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging visual arts lessons and creative projects
- Introduce a variety of art techniques (drawing, painting, mixed media, etc.)
- Encourage creativity, imagination, and self-expression
- Support students in completing individual and group art pieces
- Manage classroom behavior in a fun but structured setting
- Prepare materials and maintain an organized workspace
- Collaborate with site staff and fellow instructors
- Experience working with elementary-aged children (required)
- Strong interest or background in visual arts
- Comfortable leading hands-on creative activities
- Good classroom management and communication skills
- Energetic, patient, and encouraging teaching style
- Available for 1-week special enrichment in November
- Art or teaching experience is a plus (not required)

Position Requirements
High School
- Experience working with elementary-aged children (TK–Grade 5)
- Visual arts, drawing, painting, crafts, and mixed media
- Hands-on art instruction and creative activity facilitation
- Classroom management and student engagement
- Lesson planning and activity preparation
- Creativity, imagination, and artistic expression
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive teaching approach
- Ability to guide individual and group art projects
- Organization and classroom material preparation
- Teaching or art education experience preferred but not required
