Part Time

• Recognize urgent/emergent patient needs and initiate emergency procedures as needed.
• Follow clinic procedure and protocol for electronic medical record management.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and utilize team members in patient assessment.
• Assess patient learning needs and provide accurate information to patient and family.
• Evaluate patient and family understanding of treatment plan and instructions.
• Assist with procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment operation (EKG, spirometry, tympanometry, etc.).
• Maintain aseptic technique for preparation, procedures, and medication administration.
• Accurately document all patient interactions in the electronic medical record.
• Report results and pertinent information to patients and health care team members.
• Perform basic medical assistant functions (vitals, rooming, assist with procedures, immunizations, medication injections, etc.) under direction and supervision of provider.
• Maintain professional appearance of patient exam and procedure rooms.
• Maintain supplies in assigned area.
• Work cross coverage in other clinic areas as needed.
• Identify equipment maintenance problems and coordinate repairs.
• Participate in performance improvement projects.

• Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification obtained within first year of employment and maintained thereafter.
• Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider certification within three months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
