Project Engineer I

Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Engineer who will provide analysis, management, and resolution of field coordination issues with project team members and participants. The role supports over 50 advanced technology projects in semiconductor fabs, cleanroom environments, and advanced manufacturing facilities.

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft workers.
• Work with Project Manager for fee payments or recurring permit expenses.
• Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, and Non‑Conformance Report.
• Manage, create, and distribute contract documents.
• Establish handling procedures for electronic documents, including RFIs and correspondence.
• Incorporate processes and procedures that support the project close‑out phase.
• Manage all aspects of testing and inspection processes for the construction quality management program.
• Manage submittals and develop/distribute RFIs and Change Orders.
• Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers.
• Determine alternative work methods as needed.
• Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members.
• Maintain schedule of timelines and follow through until completion.

• Minimum of two years related construction experience.
• Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
• Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills.
• Current driver’s license.
• Ability to travel 100%.

Base pay range: $82,000 - $110,700. (Higher ranges for Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%; Seattle, WA and Portland, OR – 10%; Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Pay is positioned within the range based on knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration of internal equity.
