Overview
Project Engineer II | Mortenson – an experienced engineer who will review, provide analysis, and resolve field coordination issues with project team members and participants. The role requires interaction with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Responsibilities- Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons.
- Implement the pre‑construction quality plan and manage testing and inspection processes.
- Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expenses.
- Develop and maintain Material Tracking List, Project Test and Inspection Listing, Concrete Placement Log, and Non‑Conformance Report.
- Manage, create, and distribute contract documents; establish handling procedures for electronic documents (RFIs, correspondence).
- Manage submittals: set up register, obtain customer/architect approval, prepare transmittal forms, coordinate packaging, review, and processing.
- Expedite submittals to align with project schedule; communicate submittal process details to subcontractors and suppliers.
- Incorporate processes and procedures for project closeout phase; define and implement procedures for posting revisions and updates to as‑built construction documents.
- Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers; determine alternative work methods as needed.
- Coordinate safety and compliance for all team members; maintain schedule of timelines and ensure completion.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering or Construction Management.
- Minimum of three years related construction experience.
- Detail orientation sufficient to organize and effectively manage multiple tasks.
- Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices.
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proven positive and professional attitude and customer service skills.
- Current driver’s license.
- Ability to travel 100%.
- Base pay range $91,100 – $123,000.
