Integrated Construction Manager

Pleasant Prairie, WI

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an experienced Integrated Construction Manager to join our Data Center Group to implement and oversee Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) processes throughout all phases of a project. Strong communication skills are required to interact with staff at all levels in an ever‑changing environment. Success in this role requires flexibility, inventiveness, dedication, efficiency, integrity, and confidentiality. The role is responsible for facilitating and managing project collaboration and integrated delivery activities for construction teams.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, and oversee VDC processes through appropriate technology platforms.
  • Provide supervision and oversight of the group’s integrated construction team.
  • Contribute meaningful input toward improving the group’s ability to capture and deploy lessons learned, best practices, and to further develop the VDC Playbook.
  • Coordinate with project leadership, design team members, and preconstruction services (estimating, scheduling, project planning, constructability, site utilization, etc.).
  • Oversee the production and management of 3D and 4D models.
  • Define scope of work for projects.
  • Define schedule and deliverables for integrated delivery services.
  • Oversee construction coordination and communicate model‑generated information to the project team.
  • Capture, manage and communicate reality capture data and status visualizations.
  • Implement 3D technology during construction.
  • Participate in research and development of new technologies.
  • Lead or be involved in internal training.
  • Develop, modify, or update project BIM to support self‑performed scope of work or fill gaps in modeling scope necessary for 3D coordination.
  • Attend, participate, and present at external and internal BIM/VDC related conferences and meetings.
  • Manage others and may lead to leadership in other areas and settings within the group and/or larger Mortenson IDAT community.
  • Provide support to the group and program beyond current physical and assigned geographic location.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum eight years of progressively challenging construction management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current driver’s license.
  • Experience managing and leading a dynamic team.
  • Licensure in a professional field is preferred.
  • High level of competency with advanced software (2D, 3D, 4D).
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Building Design Systems (Revit, Civil 3D, 3

    Ds Max, Navisworks).
  • Experience with Revizto, Synchro, Enscape, ArcGIS, Drone Deploy.
  • Rendering and animation experience is a plus.
  • Part 107 license is a plus prior to joining; essential to acquire early to support program’s reality capture requirements.
  • Must be on the project site full‑time.

Salary and Incentives

Base pay range: $104,600 – $156,900. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%; Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%; Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
