Material Handler

Overview

Material Handler at Spectrum Plastics Group, A DuPont Business is a role for an experienced and knowledgeable employee. The Material Handler prepares and moves materials for storage in the warehouse, ensures correct packaging, preparation and storage of Finished Goods, and supports production needs for raw materials. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Observe all Safety, ISO, GMP and Product Safety regulations.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and maintain the Daily Forklift Inspection Log.
• Shrink wrap and band Finished Goods as necessary.
• Prepare, label, store and scan WIP and Finished Goods into the warehouse system as required by procedure in both the North and South buildings.
• Identify and repack pallets of finished goods damaged during warehouse handling by Material Handling personnel.
• Responsible for the storage of designated materials.
• Support production by delivering and stocking, packaging goods, raw materials and pallets to production as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Maintain organization of all cartons and other packaging materials in the warehouse.
• Coordinate shipments of empty Gaylord containers with the Shipping Supervisor.
• Ability to train junior employees on warehouse functions.

• Assist in quarterly physical inventory and cycle counts as needed.

• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to listen and learn through on-the-job training from the Warehouse Manager.
• Willing to learn and back up Shipping/Receiving position.
• Basic math skills.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Forklift certification required.

• Ability to use computers, hand scanners, shrink wrapper, and banding guns.
• Ability to visually inspect pallets for defects and resolve potential issues.
• Prioritize duties in a fast-paced, busy environment.
