Overview
Security Officer Coordinator
POSITION
PURPOSE:
Ensures and provides security for patients, employees, and visitors. Protects hospital’s buildings, assets, parking lots, and grounds. Coordinates work schedules for Security Officers, Campus Receptionists, and Couriers. Investigates incidents of all types that occur on Froedtert South property and generates reports and follow up activities as a result. Reviews and/or provides advice, support, and training to Froedtert South employees and affiliated staff on security-related matters to include interpretation and application of security policies and procedures, investigation of incident reports, verbal and physical de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution techniques, how to address threatening behavior, and other relevant topics.
Helps with designing security-related programs to meet identified needs, and assists Director with staff recruitment, retention, disciplinary actions, daily operations, scheduling, quality assurance projects, and general management of the Guest Relations/Security department.

Responsibilities- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Degree or certificate from academy or technical school in a related field is preferred.
- 1 – 3 years of security-related experience is required.
- 1 – 3 years of leadership experience is preferred.
- Valid driver license to operate a motor vehicle.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) “Heart Saver” (CPR/AED) certification via the American Heart Association within 6 months from hire date.
- Guest Relations/Security and Courier Service staff
- Ability to successfully complete assigned FEMA courses within 6 months from hire date (or provide previously completed course certificates).
- Ability to write comprehensive security reports.
- Ability to assist with the de-escalation of aggressive individuals.
- Ability to operate two-way radio equipment, computers, various computer-based programs, surveillance, access control systems, etc.
- Ability to comprehend instructions and material in English and professionally communicate via effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
- Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality related to sensitive communications, personnel information, and documents/records, per Froedtert South policy, HIPAA, and/or other applicable laws.
- Ability to successfully manage and monitor departmental training assignments, and address non-compliance matters promptly.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, be attentive to detail, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess general project management skills related to project/assignment planning, coordination, and completion per established timelines.
- Physical ability to walk, run, bend, kneel, climb multiple flights of stairs, transport guests in wheelchairs/beds, and intervene with combative and aggressive individuals.
