Job Description:

The Child Development Facilitator cares for and teaches the children in the daycare and preschool. The facilitator manages the daycare and preschool operation, tracks attendance of preschool and daycare students. Is responsible for billing and management of payments from parents, maintains a safe and clean environment for all students. The facilitator sends correspondences to and interacts with parents. Additionally, the facilitator assists the high school teacher in managing and mentors high school students in the lab and helps with student grades and takes attendance.



Job Duties and

Essential Functions:

  • Nurture and care for children.
  • Supervising and monitoring the safety of children.
  • Preparing and organizing meals and snacks for the children.
  • Help children keep good hygiene.
  • Organize activities that allow children to learn about the world and explore their interests.
  • Developing and encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, sharing, etc.
  • Maintaining a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.
  • Ensuring children are learning positive behaviors and providing guidance or approved discipline, as needed.
  • Keeping records relating to child care.
  • Providing a safe space where high-school students can work/experience what it is like to work in a childcare/preschool setting.

Attendance is an Essential Function of this Position

  • Physical presence at the worksite is an essential function of this position. The role requires in-person collaboration, direct interaction with team members, other staff, students, and/or guardians, and access to on-site equipment and resources.

Other Functions

  • Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting, bending, reaching, squatting, pushing, pulling etc.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional Education and experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum age: 21
  • Current Food Handlers Permit
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Additional licenses: CDA, certification and training are beneficial
  • Ability to make decisions, have patience and stamina to chase after, lift or carry children
  • Record of immunization and ability to pass a background check
  • Exceptional communication, teaching and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of stages of childhood development
  • Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children
