Technical Accountant

Our client is seeking a Technical Accountant. You will review, develop, enhance, and document the company's accounting policies and procedures. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $90,000 to $110,000 per year.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical accounting guidance to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Support technical accounting needs for new initiatives, fully understanding products to determine accounting requirements.
• Maintain and update technical accounting memos for relevant pronouncements.
• Document procedures, processes, risks, controls, and the internal control structure.
• Oversee governance and support of the internal controls program.
• Prepare and monitor end-to-end process documentation and workflows, identifying key controls.
• Interact with external auditors and regulatory examiners, coordinating requests.
• Collaborate with various departments to educate on accounting procedures.
• Assist with implementations and strategic initiatives for the accounting group.

Qualifications:

• Experience leading complex analysis for large-scale accounting and internal control work impacting senior leadership decisions.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting pronouncements.
• Ability to balance speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive problem-solving skills with critical thinking abilities. Self-starter capable of multi-tasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
• Excellent PC skills (Word, PowerPoint, Access, etc.); advanced Excel skills.
• Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey policies, procedures, and analysis/results to internal and external customers.
• Ability to build relationships with managers to coordinate and complete tasks.
