Full Time Field Service Technician – California East Bay Area
Robotics and Digital Solutions (RDS) Division of The Hillman Group has an opening for a Full Time Field Service Technician in the California East Bay Area. As a Kiosk Technician, you will receive training on key duplicating (Minute Key), tag engraving (Quick Tag) kiosks, and 3rd party service (Eco‑ATM, Pokémon). The territory includes 90+ kiosks and will involve approximately 40 hours per week.
The pay structure is hourly plus commission, with an estimated annual compensation of 60‑66k and benefits including a company car, cell‑phone reimbursement, and a corporate gas card for business miles.

- Re‑stock and perform routine service on kiosks as needed (determined by demand or schedule).
- Perform on‑call repairs or adjustments when a machine goes out of order.
- Install new kiosks or swap existing kiosks in the local area.
- Monitor machines daily for issues and contact stores to resolve connectivity or power problems.
- Track inventory for re‑stocking machines in Kiosk Tech’s possession.
- Grow revenue in the territory by optimizing machine locations, uptime, product mix, and store relationships.
Employees are expected and encouraged to participate in safety and health program activities, including immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and incidents; wearing required personal protective equipment; and supporting safety committee activities.
Education & Experience- High School Diploma or GED
- Background in electromechanical repair and maintenance (preferred)
- Prior experience in retail merchandising, field operations, and customer service (preferred)
- Minimum of 1‑3 years of experience in a similar profile (preferred)
- Experience with tools and troubleshooting mechanical problems
- Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking, including technical jargon
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Professional representation of Hillman at all times
- Ability to work weekends when required
- Excellent driving record and valid driver’s license (clean record is mandatory)
- Reliable transportation with automobile insurance (mileage reimbursement)
- Reliable cell phone (reimbursed)
Sales/Service environment varies by location/store setup and may involve cramped quarters, dust, fumes, or odors. Daily travel is required, with the possibility of driving up to 200 daily. Hand/eye coordination, functional vision, and hearing are required.
Physical Demands/Service medium lifting up to 30 lbs., occasionally pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs.
