Growing life sciences tools company seeking a San Francisco Bay area Field Automation Scientist (FAS) to support workflow automation solutions for Biopharma and Biotech and related R&D labs. The role focuses on translating customer pain points into automated workflows, providing pre‑sales technical support, and collaborating with sales, engineering, and field service teams. Key responsibilities include scoping and configuring automation solutions, delivering technical seminars and software demos, supporting on‑site evaluations at customer sites, and helping identify industry trends to keep solutions on the cutting edge.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related field (graduate degree preferred)
- Hands‑on familiarity with lab automation hardware and software platforms
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions and present to senior scientists and managers
- Broad exposure to chemistry/materials workflows and comfort working across multiple application areas
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel up to 50% as needed
