Sr. Staff Engineer (Sr. Electrical Engineer) – Direct Hire / Full Time – Onsite

Position SummarySr. Staff Engineer plays a critical role in leading the design, debugging, and support of custom electronic systems used in advanced research platforms. You’ll drive the development of hardware products that directly impact healthcare innovation.
You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to define system architecture, ensure design quality, and support the transfer of products to manufacturing, contributing to product reliability and cost-effectiveness. Your expertise in electrical engineering will guide testing strategies, root‑cause analysis, and risk mitigation, setting the bar for engineering excellence.
Position Duties- Design, debug, and support custom electronic solutions used in life science research platforms.
- Support transfer of designs to manufacturing as they transition to production.
- Travel to vendors and satellite locations (domestic) ~10‑15% of the time; occasional international travel may be required.
- Spearhead development of hardware products that advance healthcare research and treatments.
- Generate testing strategies, perform root‑cause failure analysis, and develop design risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
- Apply electrical engineering principles to develop cost‑effective, reliable, and high‑quality systems that satisfy customer needs and business requirements.
- Participate in product concepting and creation, collaborating cross‑functionally to develop system requirements, architecture definitions, system‑level and reliability test plans, and traceability of testing to requirements.
- Education : BSEE plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with CAN, I2C, RS485, USB, and designing microcontroller‑based solutions.
- Knowledge of Safety and EMC requirements (EN61010, EN61326).
- Proficient in CAD (Altium) and MS Office tools.
- Experience with opto‑electronics (APDs, lasers / laser diodes) and high‑impedance amplifier design is a plus.
