Ultrasound Technologist
Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. They perform and assume responsibility for a variety of technical procedures assigned.
Essential Functions
- Performs procedures and utilizes electronic system to verify and process orders.
- Follows infection control practices, universal precautions, and maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Assesses and monitors the patient; reports and documents changes in the patient’s condition and/or support equipment.
- Interacts with the patient, family members, and other staff to educate them about the procedure.
- Understands age‑related patient needs and responds accordingly; reassures patients and reduces anxiety.
- Attends staff and departmental meetings and participates in hospital‑wide work groups as assigned.
- Performs all duties in accordance with the C‑I‑CARE Standards of the Hospital; C‑I‑CARE is the foundation of patient‑centered interactions.
Job Qualifications
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience
- Prefer at least one year of experience performing ultrasound procedures.
License/Certifications
- ARDMS eligible (one ARDMS certification in either Abd or OB within six months of hire).
- Must have RVT within one year of hire.
- Must have ARDMS certification in ABD, OB, RVT, and Breast all completed within two years of hire at a rate of one every six months.
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work flexible schedules and varying locations as assigned.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong organization and time management.
- Problem solver and critical thinker who anticipates possible issues.
- Strong computer skills and self‑initiative.
- Knowledge of hospital safety, quality, and Joint Commission standards.

Base Pay Scale
Generally starting at $58.72 – $79.33 per hour; actual pay is based on internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
