Job Description : Our client, a world leader in the life sciences and diagnostics industry, is looking for a “Scientist I/II/Sr.” to be based in Pleasanton, CA. Job Duration:
Long Term Contract (Possibility of Extension)

The Sequencing Workflows and Applications team is seeking a scientist to contribute to the research and early development of new reagents, workflows and assay solutions in the field of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS). The qualified candidate will have experience in NGS workflow optimisation with hands‑on experience in nucleic acid extraction, library preparation, target enrichment, sequencing, and data analysis.

• The successful candidate should have a background in molecular biology and human disease related fields, with hands‑on experience designing, optimizing and validating NGS base workflows.
• Uses broad knowledge of molecular biology technique to proactively troubleshoot assays, resolve technical issues and challenges, and perform data interpretation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Biological/Life Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field
• Strong molecular biology background.
• Experience in assay design, optimization, validation, experimental design, data analysis, and presentation.
• Experience performing next‑generation sequencing methods (Exome, whole genome, RNA sequencing).
• Next‑generation sequencing using Illumina instruments such as Nova Seq, HiSeq, Nextseq, Mi Seq
• Previous experience in analysis and interpretation of NGS data is a plus.
• Previous experience with different genomics analysis technologies such as microarrays, real time PCR and ancillary equipment for quality control and validation is a plus.
