Our client is seeking an Operational Accounting Manager. You will be responsible for setting and leading the strategic direction for general accounting operations. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and serves as the cornerstone of an effective system of internal controls over financial reporting. Operational Accounting Manager leads a team of professional staff to maintain efficient, sustainable, and scalable accounting operations that deliver value to the organization.

This position is hybrid with 2 days remote. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $110,000 to $170,000 per hour.

Job Description:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
  • Develop and manage processes for consistent, timely, and accurate general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Complete monthly Reconciliations Checklist, including documentation and support for Preparer and Approver sign-offs.
  • Monitor aging of reconciling items and ensure appropriate reserves and write-offs.
  • Lead month-end, quarterly, and year-end processes, providing guidance for general accounting and operational practices.
  • Ensure internal controls are in place and executed with respect to accounting and financial reporting activities.
  • Collaborate with Finance leaders and other stakeholders to support critical business decisions.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, including thorough knowledge of US GAAP.
  • 3 years of experience in handling complex general ledger account reconciliations.
  • 3+ years of management/people leadership experience.
  • Excellent management skills with the ability to develop team members and build relationships across the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues clearly and effectively.
