Registered Nurse, Float Pool, Part Time, Days
Stanford Health Care Tri‑Valley seeks a skilled registered nurse to join our float pool for part‑time day shifts. The RN will provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and contribute to a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Job SummaryThe RN is responsible for delivering evidence‑based care, performing all nursing process steps, coordinating with interdisciplinary teams, and educating patients and families.
Essential Functions- Assess patients through interview, history taking, and physical assessment; document findings.
- Interpret assessment data to determine normal versus abnormal findings.
- Develop nursing diagnoses and monitor data as needed.
- Implement care plans and document nursing procedures consistent with standards of care.
- Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and monitor for adverse responses.
- Assess patient/family understanding; document education provided.
- Create a healing climate by being present, managing discomfort, and providing emotional support.
- Teach self‑care and illness prevention to patients and families.
- Report ethical and legal issues and complete incident reports.
- Provide care for patients of all ages, applying growth and development principles.
- Participate in meetings and committees as assigned.
- Support department strategic and organizational goals.
- Adhere to C‑I‑CARE standards and patient‑centered interaction guidelines.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current California RN license.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Minimum of one year acute‑care RN experience (clinical units may vary).
- Relevant departmental certifications as required.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize care efficiently.
- Knowledge of health‑care trends, hospital organization, and operational best practices.
The role requires the physical ability to perform nursing duties, including frequent patient movement and carrying items, and may involve exposure to bodily fluids. Reasonable accommodations are available.

Pay ScaleBase pay generally ranges from $75.42 to $92.27 per hour. Final salary is determined by experience, education, specialty, and internal equity.
