The Respiratory Nurse will evaluate effects of the respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting and evaluating the patient's progress; recommending modifications to initiate the plan of care for patients with high-risk respiratory diagnosis; review medications, x-ray, labs and treatment orders for patients.

• Must show courtesy and respect to other employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, the general public, etc.

• Maintain good personal hygiene and dress and groom appropriately.
• Report on time as scheduled and follow all company policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service sessions.
• Become thoroughly familiar with emergency procedures.
• Must be able to perform duties in a timely fashion, and within the prescribed sequences and schedules.
• Must be cooperative with other departments and be courteous and respectful in dealing with them at all times.
• Participate in and respond professionally to surveys (inspections) conducted by government agencies.

Clinical and educational support for nursing staff while administering respiratory interventions to include but not limited to:

• Bronchopulmonary hygiene
• Trach care, weaning, downsizing trach and decannulation
• Monitoring physiological responses to therapy
• Breathing exercises
• Breathing treatment
• Oxygen therapy
• Patient assessments
• Therapy recommendation
• CPAP & BiPAP therapy
• Attend daily morning meetings and monitor patient information and change of condition. Address any questions and concerns.
• Provide quality care by conducting an initial pulmonary assessment on every patient upon admission in the TCU regardless of diagnosis.
• Rounding with Physicians to maintain patient’s care.
• Consulting with DON, administrators, physicians, nurses, and other health care workers to provide the plan of care based on your patient evaluation. Make appropriate changes and suggestions to meet the patient’s needs.
• Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences

• Be personally involved with all aspects of resident care to the extent necessary to assess its quality.
• Respect all resident rights, including the confidentiality of resident care information.
• Report immediately to the proper legal authorities if you have reason to believe a resident has been physically, emotionally, or sexually abused, or been a victim of theft of their personal property.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and love, giving the resident the quality of service you would want to receive personally. Reflect the four core values of Eduro Health Care.
• Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home respiratory equipment and medications.
• Documents patient care services and interventions on provided documentation resources. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Assists in evaluating respiratory equipment for maintenance requirements and troubleshooting. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies as well as contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
