Role summary:
The Technician, Facility Services, Irrigation, is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems to ensure optimal exterior functionality. This role involves operating heavy machinery, performing seasonal maintenance, and coordinating with various stakeholders to meet service expectations. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, accurate documentation, and effective communication. Additionally, the technician supports facility sustainability initiatives, manages equipment upkeep, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency and maintain safe, well-functioning outdoor environments.
About the team:
The Exterior Service team plays a vital role in maintaining Walmart stores by managing landscaping, parking lot repairs, and supporting technicians across locations. They ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and visually appealing through seasonal upkeep and timely repairs. Team members operate specialized machinery and vehicles while adhering to safety and quality standards. Collaborating with the Home Office, they standardize equipment and optimize resources.

Their technical expertise and commitment to service sustain store environments, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to overall customer satisfaction.
What you'll do:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair irrigation system components to ensure optimal exterior system performance.
• Perform seasonal maintenance activities, including winterizing and spring start-up procedures.
• Operate heavy machinery, vehicles, and specialized tools safely to complete routine and complex tasks.
• Respond to work orders, prioritize assignments, and document activities using electronic devices.
• Conduct inspections and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure proper working condition.
• Coordinate with managers, coworkers, and external partners to meet service expectations and timelines.
• Follow safety policies, report violations, and maintain a safe work environment at all times.

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing irrigation systems and components.
• Ability to operate heavy machinery, vehicles, and specialized tools safely and effectively.
• Skilled in performing seasonal maintenance, including winterizing and spring start-up procedures.
• Strong knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and compliance standards in facility services.
• Proficient in using electronic devices for work order management, documentation, and reporting.
• Capable of coordinating with managers, coworkers, and external partners to meet service expectations.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate and recommend system upgrades and equipment replacements.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment under varying conditions.
