Construction Manager / Building Foreman – Plettenberg Bay.

A vacancy for a Construction Manager or Building Foreman in Plettenberg Bay.

Requirements:

• Minimum 20 years of proven experience as a construction manager or foreman required.
• Fluent in English or Afrikaans; valid driver’s license and own transport essential.
• For a 12-month period to oversee residential and auxiliary construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing and coordinating building teams, resources, and reporting directly to the owner.
• Tasks include planning, leading, organizing, controlling, and supervising all aspects of construction activities.
• Projects involve simple residential homes, staff accommodation, stables, stores, sheds, and external works such as paving, landscaping, and road construction.
• Proficient in using a dumpy level, setting out buildings, and interpreting drawings and plans.
• Extensive knowledge of building methodologies, materials, and techniques, including structural steel, reinforcement, formwork, brickwork, concrete, tiling, plastering, painting, carpentry, roofing, and fixtures.
• Knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and accurately measure material quantities on and off‑site.
• Personal qualities: detail‑oriented, proactive, self‑motivated, organized, capable of working independently, non‑smoker, and non‑drinker preferred.
