Job Description:

• Welcomes patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly, welcoming manner.
• Answers and responds to telephone inquiries professionally and promptly.
• Schedules appointments and prepares patients for visits.
• Gathers patient and insurance information and enters it into the EMR, ensuring all fields are complete.
• Verifies vision and insurance details, entering them into the EMR.
• Maintains a clear understanding of insurance plans and communicates insurance information to patients.
• Pulls schedules to confirm insurance eligibility prior to appointments and ensures all files are complete.
• Prepares insurance claims and runs reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed.
• Prints and prepares forms for patients' visits.
• Collects and documents all charges, co‑pays, and payments in the EMR.
• Allocates balances to insurance as needed.
• Maintains a clean workspace and practices economy in the use of equipment and supplies.
• Performs other duties as needed and as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Physical Demands:

• Requires communication and exchange of information, use of necessary equipment, and general office movement.
