Job Description:
TSC’s branch in Plymouth, MA is actively recruiting a dynamic Quality Engineer to support our MTS Operation on site. Leaders who are experienced in the integration of electronics hardware for complex systems such as high‑density airborne or ruggedized electronics assemblies are encouraged to apply. The selected individual will ensure compliance with contractual and internal requirements to guarantee our design operation meets the high‑quality product performance levels that our customers demand.
As an integral member of the Corporate Quality team, other quality duties may be assigned.
- Review Customer SOW/SOR documentation, including Quality Requirements and flow down from the Contract.
- Perform reviews of mechanical, electrical design drawings for accuracy and inclusion of Quality Requirements, technical content relevant to Statement of Work/Statement of Requirements.
- Participate in Design Review meetings with TSC Engineering Team members.
- Support Preliminary Design Review meetings with customers/internal stakeholders.
- Support Critical Design Review meetings with customers/internal stakeholders.
- Play an active role in Design Verification Testing, Qualification Testing and other testing efforts supporting design finalization.
- Review and approve test plans, documents, test reports and templates for test reports.
- Interact as part of the Integrated Product Team.
- Participate in Quality Inspection Activities such as Incoming Inspection, In‑Process Inspection and Final Inspection.
- Conduct electro‑mechanical FAI First Article Inspections as required.
- Engage with Production Manufacturing Engineers as programs move to production.
- Create Inspection Criteria, Inspection Plans and Quality Data Analysis as required.
- Review Assembly Procedures, Environmental Stress Screening Processes and provide Quality feedback as required.
- Support Risk Management Assessments utilizing Design FMEA & Production PFMEA tools and applications.
- Experience with development programs and transition to production.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 Quality Management Systems, strongly preferred.
- Experience applying design standards to electrical and mechanical designs, strongly preferred.
- Familiar with IPC, J‑STD, MIL and DOD Standards.
- Experience with configuration control.
- Experience with CAD tools and PCB layout tools.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills in design review and verification against customer SOW/SOR.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to accurately maintain records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment and get along with others.
- Ability to apply reviews, interpret and ensure compliance to relevant contract quality notes.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Ability to summarize issues from collected data and present succinct summary in visual form.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Quality Assurance or Equivalent, or 5–7 years of applicable experience in quality assurance, engineering, or operations.
- 5–7 years’ experience in Electrical Schematics, Circuit Card Assemblies & Integration.
- 5–7 years’ experience in Mechanical Assemblies including GD&T.
- DoD or Military Hardware Manufacturing Experience.
