MGP Environmental Consultant – Plymouth, MA
Job OverviewAn established environmental engineering group is looking for a mid‑senior Environmental Consultant with demonstrated experience in Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites. You will be responsible for overseeing complex environmental investigation and remediation projects, working closely with clients, regulators, and internal project teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take on technical leadership responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Lead and support environmental investigation and remediation projects with a strong focus on MGP sites
- Develop and implement site investigation strategies, sampling plans, and remedial approaches
- Prepare technical reports, work plans, proposals, and regulatory submittals
- Manage project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and field staff
- Conduct fieldwork as needed, including oversight of drilling, sampling, and remediation activities
- Serve as a technical resource for junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing
- Maintain strong client relationships and support business development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field
- Direct experience working on Manufactured Gas Plant (MGP) sites is required
- 5 to 10+ years of relevant environmental consulting experience
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with site investigation methods, remediation technologies, and regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and client expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced consulting environment
- Professional licensure (PE, PG, LSP, LEP, etc.) is a plus
